Bang for the Buck
There isn’t any. On average, the farmer gets $0.01 for every cup of coffee you drink. Raya Coffee pays a living wage to our farming partners.
Middle Men
Typically, 6-8 coffee brokers trade and sell the beans between the farmer and the roaster–eating away at potential profits. With Raya Coffee–we use 1! This is how we sell premium beans powered by purpose.
Labor Intense
The best beans are hand picked from the coffee plants. It’s back breaking labor. It is slow. And the farm workers are often paid by weight, if we can call it getting paid at all.

Shelter from the Elements
Our partner farm in Honduras provides indoor living conditions for seasonal workers. This basic necessity is an unheard of benefit for nearly all coffee farm workers.
Powering a Whole Community
Being on the grid is essential to farming high quality coffee beans. Our partners at Alma Coffee built the infrastructure for the farm to have electricity along with the ENTIRE VILLIAGE.
